Site Status

The site was updated today!

Unfortunately, the site was shut down for way longer than 1 hour and testing has begun.

There were only a few Add-Ons that didn't have a update available so there are new options available almost everywhere.

Kindly report any problems that you encounter so that we can try to fix them, Thanks for your patience.

Pinball Nirvana's Captcha processing just got better, I think.

I get so frustrated with trying to prove that I'm a human! More times than I care to admit I failed at clicking on traffic lights, cars and motorcycles to pass the damned captcha. That system is now gone, If we do show an interaction, the user will be prompted to check a box (no images or text to decipher). :woohoo:

Yeah, I've read notes from some high-level users and devs upon the 'check a box' system, and it just sounds so much more pleasant and no-fuss than the older, 'click here, then there' system, which for whatever reasons seems kind of... insulting?

Evidently the newer AI can gather information about your mouse & browsing behavior, and predict with 99+% accuracy whether human or bot, thus making the whole process so much simpler.

Altho (haha) yeah, it does kinda raise questions about the power of the java-scripts we automatically accept across sites, so I'd also say, yeah-- even if you don't run an "adblocker" (which Google is now intensely fighting back against), at least try to run a script-blocker, eh maties?

Yes, there's a small learning curve there, but it's really not that hard to pick up, and of course it makes yon pirate / porno browsing experience vastly more secure. According to a good friend, that is. :s
 
Site is being updated today, it was down for 15 minutes earlier for the first step.

More steps to come and the site will close again during this process, hope it isn't long or less than 1 hour.

@JonPurpleHaze - I have been seeing multiple "service unavailable" messages yesterday and today. I can't confirm if it is on my end or not.

Same here.
Seems to load pages ok after a bit.
But I am also seeing the Service Unavailable page. (Right before I posted this.)
 
You should update the 503 service unavailable page to request for more donations :D

We are having problems with the email system and I believe it's having a impact on the site for retrying to send many,many,many failed emails.

I was working on a different offsite procedure but that didn't work out, still have other options to try.

We've been with this hosting company for 17 years with shared hosting and a few times in the past they were throttling our bandwidth due to a different site's bandwidth use, I managed to get PN moved to a different server back then and that worked. These current problems look like they also could be related. I changed to an annual plan back then and unfortunately it's coming due on 2/20 so I won't really have time to activate other good options right now. I'll be trying to get the email system fixed first.

I have not gotten any error messages recently but there are times when the main page and the alerts load slowly.
 
Site was down for awhile, we still have email problems but I believe stuff is going to get better.
Have to refresh browser's cache.
Tried to use Cloudflare and messed up, not done so we might have other outages.

The site is changing servers on Tuesday 3/19, it could be down for up to 1 hour, the switch should improve the sporadic bad response times and includes software and hardware upgrades.

Hope we don't tilt!:blahblah:
 
I hope the transfer goes smoothly.
If not it would be good to have backup plan to communicate.
We can all meet at another site if things go badly?
Maybe VPForums? I think we all have an account there?

I've been preparing for this change for a few days, just wanted to mention that I really don't expect major problems with the upgrades.

It should be a automatic process that will be completed on Tuesday sometime, I just don't know the time and if the site is down, it shouldn't be more than 1 hour.
 
The site did indeed change servers yesterday!

This was a upgrade for both of the hardware and software, initial testing has gone ok.
No new concerning errors in the reports and testing continues.....🧪:updated:
