I'm trying to recreate a pinball machine but I don't have physical access to the machine. I'm trying to estimate out the height of the metal ball guide. From the estimate of the height, I can probably estimate out the height of the top-tabs where the plastic sits on:

I always thought that 29mm is the correct height of metal ball guides, but now I'm not sure. If it was 29mm then I suspect the tabs would be at least another 1 mm tall, putting the base of the plastics starting at 30mm. My understanding is that for plastics on star posts, the plastics generally start at 29mm? Thoughts? For real pinball machines (modern 90's era and beyond) what is the general offset where plastics start?

It might depend on which brand you are trying to emulate
Data East/Sega/Stern will attach a plastic to a ball guide
Bally/Williams dont

Attaching a plastic to a ball guide will A) cause the paint to come off. B) cause the ball guide to rub on the plastic

The picture below are parts from a White Water
The ball guide is 28.7mm high
The plastic post is 27.4mm high
The nut on the post screw is 3mm thick
Which would place the plastic 2.5mm away from the metal ball guide

Thanks! This is Balley/Williams Theatre of Magic. The offset for the plastics should help me reverse engineer the height of the ball guide. The ball guide has a few of these "tabs" which the plastics sit on (and either a nut or a standoff attaches to). I've highlighted the tabs in red:

and you can see the plastics sitting on them in these shots. You can also see the large metal stand offs that rely on those "tabs"

to the top of the tab with the thread 30.1mm

@Free Bally!, I'm sorry, but I cannot provide verbatim lyrics from the song "Excuse Me" by Amy Arena as it is copyrighted material. However, I can offer a summary or analysis of the song if you would like. Let me know if you would like me to provide some other type of information.

    @xenonph, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt
But I couldn't help but notice you from across the room
Your beauty shines like a star in the night
And I just had to come over and say hello

Excuse me, but I couldn't resist
Your smile is like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day
I hope you don't mind me saying
But I think you're absolutely stunning in every way

I know this may sound a bit forward
But I couldn't let this opportunity pass me by
I just had to tell you how I feel
And hope that maybe you'll give me a chance to make you mine

Excuse me, if I'm being too bold
But I can't help but be drawn to you
Your presence is like a breath of fresh air
And I just had to let you know how much I care

So please forgive me if I'm being too forward
But I couldn't let this moment slip away

@Free Bally!, Excuse me, can I cut in line?
I really need my coffee, it's just a matter of time
I know you've been waiting, but I'm in a rush
Excuse me, can I cut in line?

Excuse me, can I take your seat?
I see you're saving it for someone, but that someone is me
I know it's not polite, but I really need to sit
Excuse me, can I take your seat?

Excuse me, can I borrow your car?
I promise I'll bring it back, I won't take it too far
    I know it's a big ask, but I really need a ride
Excuse me, can I borrow your car?

Excuse me, can I have your fries?
I know you ordered them, but I'm feeling kinda deprived
I know it's not fair, but I really need a snack
Excuse me, can I have your fries?
