Yesterday I was all about Beach Boys. Since I have the discography I just picked random albums to play.
I'll leave here one everybody knows.
 
Oohlala, speaking of the 'Boys, I'm blown away by how this Korean tune I just heard shifted from classic surf / chillout to the ~Beach Boys by the end.


It's easily in my top five of cool new tunes I've discovered this year.

So, looks like it didn't chart well in the States. Maybe that explains why I'm not sure if I ever heard it before.

Btw, am I right in thinking that 'monotone' style songs like this helped inspire the sound of Depeche Mode?


Anyway, I was watching the Gary Gulman comedic special last night and was pleasantly reminded of this nice Nilsson classic:


And of course, this delightful butchering of such:
 
Echo beach was an early track to use a synth in it, a lot of the late 70s/early 80s synth stuff rocks, that has just reminded me of this awesome track
which i believe was the first to use a synth as the lead instrument. And also was so great it was an optional track to
play while playing Frankenstein pinball by SEGA in 1995.

I have their "They Only Come Out At Night" album that has "Frankenstein", "Free Ride" and "Hangin' Around" on it. I never cared much for their other albums.
