It does not bother me that the link is there. I think one of the bigger texts at a VP site's front page should be links to the other VP sites. But that's just me, and it is not the point.

I have a few games in the works for VP since my laptop now has dual boot. I've not posted for a long period of time since my wi-fi is just retarded. Otherwise I am working on things and also have a few adventure games being done for another program. Folks I'm sure are still working on games for VP. I still do. I just don't plan on any total public releases; and when I visit over at VPF I usually don't post but use the chatroom WHEN I can get a decent connection which hasn't happened for two weeks.

but most likely it's just the code now for the problem
as to why there are so many other there?
well it's a newer site, it gets much more publicity,
it's always being updated and imo I think not too many of the newer members over there even know of this site
but my pins do go up onto both sites as there are some who do not or can't, visit vpf

I agree with you about what's wrong with this place, but now some of those half a dozen people will start badmouthing you probably. Don't take it as an insult, but as a sign that you aren't part of the problem.

Actually I've posted wips here before with little to no responses as well as release threads. So id prefer to post where at least more input is givin rather that the nudge sucks and did you add start shake and its just another cabinet table when the majority users are desktop users.

I used to be here all the time also, but the freedom to beaten people here has turned me off to the site.

And the so called vp veterans do more harm than good most times

Well said Unclewilly. It didn't matter where I posted though since the WIP I created got very little responses. I updated two flippered pinballs and a few flipperless but that was enough for me. I now use VP not for pinball but other arcade/puzzle type of games that other folks seem to not want to try to make or start.

I post very rarely but when I do there is a ton of bitching and complaining. So, I've decided to take myself to other places where I can do more good than harm. Working with text adventure games has once again put me on the right track and it's been fun.

The freedom to beaten people is rampant here and I for one am a but bothered by this. Yes, I do have a mouth (I admit it) but when I can't start something that starts up a big complaint war I feel better.

Funny thing is many folks think I want "fanfare" but that's not the case. Just a single "thanks" would be nice. Very rarely do I get them but when I do it's nice to know someone else enjoys what you've put work into. The last thanks I got was at VPF in my PM and that person is a very seasoned programmer - this made me feel the best I've ever felt in the years I've used VP. The kind words were a breath of fresh air to me and it made me realize everything I did in VP was well worth it

Sadly though, I've dropped pinball all together. There is no more fun from it for me. I'm just very glad there are others who enjoy it and keep it going.

You're right about this place UncleWilly, it's almost a lost cause.

WIP's are a showing of the progress of a mans', or a groups' work. If this includes a file, and a request for input, one should expect input from all angles, otherwise input from others should be of no import.

I don't know why someone should expect, or want thanks for a WIP. WIPs are not anything to others if they are not completed, instructive, or includes requests for testing, resources, or problem solving.

I usually don't go out of my way to "beat" people, as Uncle Willy stated, but, in a different thread, that moron Doucheadic created a whole history where I "complained about everything after the facts have been posted" in regards to him, when I had never once conversed with him, even obliquely, in any other thread on any forum. I don't mind idiots, and I'm more than happy to quietly accept their existence. But when an idiot directly attacks me, I can't help but fit them for their dunce cap. If that makes him feel less welcome here, then that makes this site a better place.
I think Bob said it best in another thread, that Pinball Nirvana is a little behind the curve as far as VP9 goes, and we all know there's a better site to find the latest info on what's going on in the latest VP development. So PN is a nice place to talk to friends about whatever comes to mind... whether it's Star Trek, global warming or the scariest strip bar in America. Mind you, every now and again, there'll be a Shocky-rant about VPForums, and John will start an equally bitter rant about putting Shockman on "ignore"... but if you can get over a few of the speed bumps, this is a comfortable place to be.

Nor did I say anything about you. I can't help it if a general statement strikes a cord with you or anyone else.

You must have gotten a response to a WIP here that you were unhappy with though, and I'm getting the feeling it was from me, but I don't remember it. I remember saying something about one of your WIPs at VPF though, and you were never the same towards me afterward.

yeah I admit I love to watch as wip's come together but I do not
and I don't think anyone else does either expect or want any kind of thanks for them.
If anything all we want is some input, does it look okay, good ball flow,
colors or maybe some help with it every now and then
that's all though, I don't want nor need (not that I ever get any anyhow)
