The gallery was always and still is named 'pinball people'. There's no relation to any forum, nor to any pinball software nor to any hardware. I simply don't understand what you mean!

Yes, I used the name "pinball people member gallery" in my signature last (I changed that some days or a week or two ago to get rid of the word 'member', as that doesn't have any meaning).

I think you, of all people, can acknowledge that vpforums.com was snowballing into being unusable for its intended purpose. I wanted the community to have the vpforums they wanted .com to be, but in its spiraling state of decay would never be.

@m4paws - I just got the word from David Foley that Stern will continue producing machines, but not new designs. Just the designs that have already been manufactured.

I think it was because I identified the community as VPForums, not the domain. It's like when you move. You still call it home.

I wanted the place to be what it should be, not what we were seemingly stuck with.

Ok so VP is on its way out (maybe, maybe not!) we are all entitled to our opinions. I read that entire interview at the ORG which is what I call it. and it was very informative, He (the interviewee; can't recall his actual name) admitted that FP is flawed, and VP is better, but also stated that they are working on it to bring it up to snuff so to speak.
As for VP going the way of the Dodo bird, if enough of us care we can still keep VP alive. Ok we may not be able to get up to date Roms (but if Stern goes belly up it won't matter anyway) but we can still program with vp8 AND vp9! who's to stop us? and IF they can actually make FP as good as VP then more power to them. At least someone cares enough to do it. each of us is entitled to our opinions, but I agree to post the entire interview so we can make honest judgements, rather than to make bad assumptions based on a few choice lines from that interview. Since FP doesn't even run on my computer, yeah I am a little uneasy, but I figure I can still program in vp and I'm pretty certain that someone out there will still have an interest to play these (VP) pins. Personally I'm not holding my breath, on FP, since it may take years before it's ready or it may come out tomorrow! who knows? he was kind of vague on that. But, either way we still have a strong following here and on the ORG (I like that title better than VPF.org, just personal opinion) and JPG-pins forum and a few other sites, and to me that's all that matters. just good, loyal pin freaks enjoying each others company! so shake hands, hug and have a (silver) ball (gawd I sound like I've been here forever, but this is just my personal opinion, you are entitled to yours but either way...

Well, that's a tough question, Bob.

I don't like conflict, and it really upsets me when my character comes into question. For those that know me well, they know I'm a stand up guy with the utmost respect for everyone around me, sometimes to a fault.

Based on the success of the site and the fact AJ's is seemingly no more, I'd have to say yes. That, of course, is based on the 20/20ness of hindsight.

Had AJ's not disappeared, that may not be the case, but I think it would be a success under any other name, as well. I have and will make every attempt to provide everything the community needs to continue to grow and develop. That's my only motivation.

However, I think I now understand your post after some rereadings anyway. It mostly/always needs some time to make me understand.

I understand and admit, that I would be some irritated first, if anyone would use the name "pinball people member gallery" in case he/she would start a new gallery. But, there's no content I'm licensed to publish only on my own. If someone else wants to publish a more nice gallery, it's their own affair/business. I don't have any advantage in offering the gallery, but only some work from time to time.

You only have to understand that I can't contribute to VP/VPM in providing tables and what else, so I just decided to become involved by continueing a gallery and some other things. and I don't feel bad about.

Stern still has one announced pinball machine to come, '24' (based on the TV show '24')
