i also use Avast and it uses way less memory than most of the big-named commercial ones out there(Norton, Mcafee) norton is notorius for bogging down a computer (you know yo CAn turn it off when you play pins, I shut down my avast when I play, also my Automatic updates and my antispyware. I run windows in its minimum (no bells and whistles)nothing worse than getting a serious score on a pin only to have it lock on ya' cause your automatic updates for windows or something starts to run, casuing the vp editor to lock or worse crash to desktop. I have learned thru too many lost WIP's to shut down anything that will (or could) run in the background to lessen this chance of a major snafu occurring

I have a program from C Net.com (Game Booster) it shuts down unnecessary programs when playing pinball. It's a free download. It makes a difference on my laptop.
