Default Do you still feel comfortable? I don't!

I wanted to post something similar as a reply at another thread here, but as I think, it's more important than thought first and another problem, I decided to post a new thread.

I don't exactly feel comfortable to visit PN and post here at PN anymore, only because I'm also member at VPF.org. I somehow feel I'm not welcome here anymore (apart from some other members, who should know, who I mean). There were some other incidents I don't remember exactly anymore, but actually one thing that let's me feel like this is i. e. Phoenixx signature. If that was only a standard members signature, ok, but as I recently had to notice, that he's a moderator at PN, I have to come to conclusion, that it's official.

If it's fact, which I now have to assume, please let me know clearly. I'm sorry I wasn't that sensitive before to find that out by myself, but now I think I realised. I just want to know, because I don't want to disturb the concentrated hate against VPF.org anymore, if that's the case.

I know I'm and I wasn't no contributing member ever and I already feel sorry for posting anything here ever.

i like a place that has some people with a sense of humor,
at VPF.org there seems to be very little, everyone so serious
about pinball and it just seems in general less SOH at all pinball forums...

What's SOH?

I just want to know, if PN wants to get rid of me. If yes, no problem. Just let me know.

I agree that fun and humor hasn't reached VPF.org.

Yogi, this place is for everyone.... Think about that.... It means, this place is for you, me, Phoenixx, Shockman, Tii or anyone else. Jon doesn't discriminate, he allows people to post their views, there is very little moderation here. It's a nice place. I like it.

I don't feel very comfy at the new VPF, it's too businesslike, too serious for me and there's a bunch of new members there who are only interested in building cabinets. More power to them, but I feel out of place there....

VP9 looked like a great jumping off point to me, so I bought a PS3, best move I've made for awhile. It worked great right out of the box (no installer needed) and I didn't even have to buy a $300 controller from Folley.

And how much humor is there at the 'pinball emulator (that will not incorporate PinMAME)' site (whos name I will not mention, as I do not want to start a bitch-fest)?

Yogi, PN is just a group of old guys who like to talk crap
Jon alway has fridge full of beer and everyone is welcome

you do not have to choose between the sites
VPF.org is a great site if you want to build a table, or stay on-top of what is happening in VP
PN is still, and will always be, a cool place to hang

I have nothing against you, never have
If I censored you at VPF.com (I cannot remember if I did or did not) it was according to the rules, and not a personal dig at you

You are the formost creator of orginal tables for VP (and I asume FP)

Todays comment was more about the bussiness like (no fun, obey all our little rules or be banned) aproach at the FP forum

And here I thought it was just me! It's amazing how popular VPF.org got so fast, but I admit to feeling a little... lost over there. PN feels a little more comfortable for someone whose deepest knowledge of the technical construction of a pinball table is where to put the quarter.

A PS3, Bob? And here you told me to buy an XBox! (I guess the actual choice was between that and a couch, to be truthful)

I think the thing is , we all got so used to our own company
VPF.com and PN are just a small group of people who know each other well

VPF.org is full of strangers, and they are posting, and asking questions

O.K., lets clear up a few misconceptions:

1.) The sign in my sig represents solely my own views, (and simply states a fact), meaning there is no 'behind-the-scene-campaign' or whatever going on because when i talk to Jon we dont talk about other people or places, we talk about administrative things related to PN and only that. The fact that i have used the word 'we' is because i identify myself with this place as opposed to a certain other. I would have used the exact same expression if my status were User or Guest. (Not that it was anyones business what i write into my sig anyway.)

2.) Like Jon said in the other thread, i have had moderator status here since summer 2005, which is almost 4 years if i am not mistaken. That means except for the fact that i am now in a group called 'Junior Administrator' there is absolutely nothing new about this, if anything it just shows how much attention some people have been paying for all these years.

3.) I am not here to moderate! I never wanted to have a moderator position, i always said so and i meant exactly what i said! I am here to administrate and that is exactly how it is going to stay too. That my usertitle says 'Moderator' is neither my fault nor my choice, it simply comes with the territory. And quite frankly i think this should be no ones concern but mine.

Yes, nobody said or means that Phoenixx was not allowed to moderate. I just wanted to find out the general atmosphere/disposition amongst the members here, caused by Phoenixx new signature in correlation with my realisation that he's a staffer here. Yes, I didn't know that before. What a shame!

A staffers signature has always to be considered as official. That in conjunction with the knowlege of the position of some members and vprespect in mind, I wasn't sure anymore, if there's no 'campaign' in the backgrounds. Even if there was no direct reference, I think everyone could notice the allusion. If there was no intention, then I wonder why it's changed now. It's simply absurd to continue with changed signatures. Can't this simply stop?

There's absolutely nothing comparable at VPF.org nor here at PN and I never noticed anything like that at any other place in the web, nor in real life. In fact it's ridiculous to feel constrained to deal with.

Now it's cleared and it didn't bring that much fun as it promised first. Too bad.

Oh really. Is that a fact. And exactly who has established this mighty rule? Where can i read it up that everything a member with moderator status says in their signature is automatically to be taken as 'official'?

You know what i think? I think this is bullshit and that you are outright looking for something to whine about because you want to be miserable. Otherwise you would not post your 'I am Leaving' threads every two months and quite certainly would you not constantly take something insignificant like one members signature as a reason to make a big theater about absolutely nothing,...

Quote:

I changed it so that easily-offended ever whining people like you have one reason less to 'feel uncomfortable'. But apparently thats no good either since one who wants to find something to whine about obviously just makes something up if all else fails. Case in point: Now that you cant whine about the old sign anymore you promptly start to whine about the new one and that i have changed it. I mean, hello? Personally i find that quite impertinent, and once again i cant shake the feeling that certain people are really only happy when i pack my bags leave for good. Every little shit i do, no matter how insignificant, seems to be a giant world-changing event to them, and quite frankly im sick and tired of having to deal with the same kind of crap day in and day out,...

Actually, I've been straining to figure out what you're talking about to be honest... The sig in question made me think more of P-O than anything else, but I didn't think it was a reference to it.

Perhaps because it was potentially offensive, so he changed it. (What a concept!) Doesn't have to mean anything more than that though...
