depends on the audience, right?

so are you working on anything interesting these days?

in terms of game development, i'm getting a bit in to android. not as a coder but as a dev partner. it's fun since the platform is still pretty new and there's still a lot of room for achievement.

I'm not only old fashioned in game taste, but old fashioned in development. Windows 10 opened back up my Game Maker games to me. The development software and the .exe files crashed in Windows 8. I have been fixing bugs in them and reworking the key mapping in Asteroids + Deluxe. I am going to put them in a big coffee table cabinet and sit around playing them.

What do you do for dev.? Concept and storyboard? Marketing and distribution?

well that sounds like a neat idea.

re: android,
no, i'm not as organised as all that. i usually come in after a product has been released and i see potential but also notice issues and/or a lack of ideas. so i do testing and provide feedback... a lot of it based on years of 8-bit game-playing.

there's a very healthy retro scene in android, and i love it. an example would be the brilliant hoplite, which is like taking a great 8-bit strategy boardgame and then adding great ideas that came up in later decades.

another (flash) project is kings of conquest, which starts with the classic "lords of conquest" and then adds all kinds of new features and wrinkles.
