That Deadpool movie is a Marvel comic. Disney owns Marvel. But Deadpool, the movie is a Fox Studios release.
I think we know the reasons why. |

I know the reason why. Marvel signed with Fox to do Spiderman and X-men waaaay back in the late-90s. Despite the fact that Marvel started its own studio and then got in bed with Disney since then, Fox still owns the rights to the X-Men and Spiderman film characters and Deadwood is part of the X-Men universe. Gee, poor insanely-rich Marvel.

Aw shit. I thought it was about all that adult stuff.
Do you suppose Disney would have bought back the rights otherwise? |

Oh, sure... if Fox wanted to let go of them. I think the fact that Fox liked making X-Men and Spiderman movies so much that they rebooted them with pointless, money-printing new franchises shows that Disney will pry those properties from Fox's cold, dead fingers. Oh, and then there's Fox's utterly repugnant Fantastic Four clone job from last summer. I was checking IMDB to make sure Fox was the guilty suspect on that one and noticed that one of the site's Plot Keywords is "box office bomb". And that's being kind.
