sleepy;

And, a good double scoop it (Them Changes / Going Down) is...

...but my BS&T enthusiasm started when Kooper (thankfully, I say) gave it up, David Clayton-Thomas became lead vocalist, and Dick Halligan moved from trombone to organist-arranger. More and more, Smiling Phases, And When I Die, Spinning Wheel, You Made Me So Very Happy, and God Bless The Child all on one album---amazing that it took a second rush of awareness for the public to wake up to it.....

Yea! We used to get those kinds of Double Scoops all the time on the radio. And yeah, I know. The BS&T choice was a toss, but I do like the bends in that cut.

I really like this thread and have had time to hear a bunch of fine tunes with Sennheiser headphones, you guys are posting great stuff, I tried to quote my favorites but am going to have to cut the videos out.

"Big ships a'sailin'
Slaves all chained and bound
Headin' for a brand-new land

Damn, this song... if it don't give you goosebumps, then you passed away not too long ago too!
Saw Allen Touissant at the best annual party in the world, the New Orleans Jazz Fest!

There sure are divides between the plains. Amboy Dukes didn't play in L.A., though Ted Nugent did. And Spirit was very popular in L.A. Led Zeppelin was their opening act in the late 60's. This is from their album, "The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus", released in 1970. Pretty funky album with several worthwhile tunes. This cut was a single. It is not funky. The tune was created on a Sunday morning, 1970, around 11 A.M. It was the first of two tunes created that morning, one right after the other.
Love that tune, lived in California back then and heard it a lot.

Saw Blood Sweat & Tears in the mid 80's in a old church and it was excellent. Need more Horns, Chase wasn't on the radio when I was young but they are worth comparing on headphones, youtube vs. a .mp3.
Open Up Wide, had to include some of this Chase album, handbags and the gladrags that your grandad had to sweat to buy.

No Bones about it (or saxes either)---four screech-men filling out the limit of human hearing while the organ handles the midrange.....

Wait a minute---did you forget "Hello, Groceries"?

Damned airplanes, anyway.....

Against the storm, circa 1979. Is there still time?

Heh, there never was a radio station that played my music, not counting our dinky li'l 300 watt monaural FM college station (my usual top of the hour ID was "WCWS FM 91.9 - three hundred throbbing watts of FM mono power, serving the greater campus area depending on which way the wind is blowing!"). That's why I do XM -- there's a 24x7 Grateful Dead channel.
