I almost had a good laugh at Steve's post... then I realized my relationships with many people here have lasted longer than my marriage. That is depressing.

@Nic: I smell an Itunes purchase in your future! It's probably the greatest novelty song since "Disco Duck"!

If your objective is to make it into something other than what it was, it would have been best to not bring the fucking matter up again, don't you think?

If nothing else, the fact that you banned me after AJ gave me access, something you said beforehand you would not get in the way of, shows the reality of the matter. You lied then and you lie now. Just be more glad that your POV is synonymous with your reality in that matter. That takes a special person.

You know, when it seemed to me that we would be able to get along, here, now, I thought as well that you are being better than you were then, but I would not, and did not say 'to bad you was an asshole then, and not like you are now' even if the thought occurred, because it is going backwards, not forward. Certainly nothing other than confrontational.

"Disco Duck"! Aw shit. I thought you were serious.

Better yet, be forced to watch the "Disco Duck" segment of "Midnight Special" until you're blind. That video is mucho more than the song itself has to offer.

Behold! And see no evil!

About Gordon. He is a pretty good musician with a good voice
nonetheless.
Songwise, he just needs a little motivation. His writing is at least
60% there, though I can't say for "space monkeys".

Looking at the wikipedia for the song, it was used in Saturday Night Fever but was cut from the soundtrack when his manager decided that its inclusion would hurt the sales of the Disco Duck standalone album. The soundtrack album then went on to sell 40 million copies.
I remember it and Bee Gees literally flying off the stacks of palates at Tower Records back in the day. Three palate stacks of SNF soundtrack vinyl album at a time, or within 72 hrs. and repeat.

So Dees got screwed out of a million dollars.

Thank God It Wasn't Me!

bill, stop being such a selective asshole with your thanks. first i made you laugh, then you saw the plan, right? right? oy vey... friends!

although if you do think i'm being too hard on the boy, consider that at long last, senator mccarthy, THIS is exactly what he needs to engage some long-dormant brain regions of his. the ones we nice folks want to see engage and self-heal. motherfucker.

side note: what truly blows me away about most folks is how they all started out so VERY much more well-adjusted than i did (i had five different parenting situations in my first 6-7 years, then was an unwanted child from age seven-on), but how life and nature directed me to take on that terrible homework, walk through the wasteland with little if any immediate reward, and finally come out so much better than the poor sufferers all around me.

i'll leave the advertising campaign for another day, but my tribe RULES!

I'll tell you Ike. Anymore I ignore Everything that my upbringing forced down my throat, and I do so because when I was 2, 3, 4, 5, that's when I and the world were right to me.
When I was minding my own business.

Existence and self-discovery were all that mattered then.
I thought the Adults around me were crazy and self-inflicted in their dependencies, and never mind them. They already had their minds made up before they walked in the door.
And the kids around me who imitated those adults were worse. At least the Adults gave me a temporary pass on 'my assumed childlike ignorance'. Otherwise, I got my butt whipped.

So, exploration and self-discovery was and still is it.
Else I'd have nothing for myself and nothing to offer anyone.

that's why i always considered you a half-brother, arne (and way SMARTER in too many areas, asshole)... but you do need to work on your forgiveness and understanding towards the forces that shaped you, bro.

you have a hard slog ahead of you if you want it, but -you- have to be the one who's willing to do it. otherwise your relations with other people are always going to be tainted and compromised... including those who mean you well but whose gestures are compromised by your internal logistics and mythology.

and if i haven't said so before, i REALLY like you, arne. but i can never do the hard work for you, ever. that's between you and nature.

anyway, that's it for tonight. so good night and good luck.

So, browsers....

I use Firefox because it has the add-ons I like and is way better than IE.
I do think Chrome is a little faster but I just don't like the look of it.

Hey! What's this "browser" crap doing in the Disco Duck thread? Oh... never mind. I should mention that I've been using Firefox for about 8 years, back when it was more secure than IE. But, I must admit, I've been enjoying using Chrome on the Ipad. One big drawback to any Ipad browsers... No Adblock add-ons. Never realized just how well that add-on works for Firefox.
I owned Disco Duck on 45. My way of confessing my sins.

I'm having a flashback...AND LOVING IT...Say what you want about DISCO but those were really good high times. Thanks SLEEPY for the link and reminding me of America before drug testing and before Regans supreme court took our freedom away. As for the suggested thread starter I use FIREFOX. The question in my mind is what browser is the most secure?

Disco? Bee Gees. Chic. Trampps. Rick James.
All good to me. Donna Summer? Got the following with formula tunes,
but she was hot.

Never got paid...quack!

...and don't get me started on the meaning of the song, "Funkytown".

For years I have used Firefox and I still do.

If I find a good reason to use Chrome then I will.

I play Flash games on Chrome with an Ad-Block plugin. They run too slow on FF with or without Flash ads interrupting the game. I'm still using XP, so I would use IE 8 for games, except the dirty dog IE8 wants to scroll when I press the arrow keys for the game.

I added the Ad-Block plugin after the games became unplayable due to those stupid "Congratulations! You are the 100,000th Visitor" banners that blink on and off at 10 milliseconds in real time while probably not using any video buffer for the blinks. That behavior without a pre-render video buffer messes with the game.

I normally use FF for browsing. Like right now.

Still mostly using Firefox. What I have been wanting to mention is all the updates still coming in for Windows XP. I'm not too surprised by the security updates for media player or IE. I have gotten security updates for XP and the monthly malicious software removal tool .
P.S. I just found SteveOz 's post about continuing support for some XP products>
