Got a bit done last night ...
Now has correct guide posts & round rubbers Kickers are working, bullseye targets animated, etc. This one & Wild Wild West were the first Gottlieb's to have drop targets in '51 WWW having only one Seems drop targets weren't used again till '71 Not sure what happens with the drop targets resetting, but there's a YouTube vid on it, I'll have to watch it a few times for that & sounds Of the 8 bumpers, only 3 are active - the other 5 only for chimes & scoring I've got Bob's bumper demo, might start on those next |

actually Crescendo was the first Gottlieb to have drop targets
Gottlieb Crescendo pinball (5/70), Gottlieb Groovy pinball (7/70). Same game, just different number of players (4 players versus 2 players). Gottlieb sold this game design in the two flavors, though they are essentially the exact same game (with slight artwork differences). The 2 player version (Crescendo) had a lower price, and was marketed to game operators with less money to spend. Crescendo is one of the rare cases where the 2-player game is as desirable than the 4-player Hi-Score game, due to the backglass artwork. Also Crescendo was the first Gottlieb game to use conventional style drop targets. They made 1175 Gottlieb Crescendo pinballs, and 1355 Gottlieb Groovy pinball machines. http://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=590&picno=6138 |

Thanks Patch. I know woodrails don't have as much going on and aren't as fun to play, but damn they look good!

reading up on those 'drop targets they look like bulls eyes
with a target behind them that actually dropped when the bulls eye got hit so yeah you could call them drops but the ball never hits them |

Yes, you're right, cheers Faralos
The very first line in this post, reads ... ... "drop targets (sort of)" |

I love that wood look to the whole play field
so how much longer till we get to try it out? |

Yeah, I'm real happy with the woodgrain result
& I don't want to spoil it with the stapled apron card, that should be there Those side rails need to go all the way to the top ... oops I've picked out & made transparencies of all the backglass score images but I don't want to clutter the backdrop, so think I'll use those images in EM reels |

I agree that apron is too pretty to spoil it with a card of any type!
and is that a cheat wall between the flippers or will it stay there when we get to play it tool? |
|

|
|||
|
|||
|
Yep, the ball saver gate is part of the game
... maybe watch the video Have to still shrink the scoring images more I made them 128 X 128, just a bit too large when all merged in one strip for EM reels

I've got some scoring going - single points via text box
100,000s with image strip in EM reel Need to do the millions & 50,000s yet I have the targets working, but with the rear (BTarg) targets resetting on a separate/slower timer than the bullseye(s) animation Reset times are erratic - too slow/too quick at times Have I confused the engine as much as me? Sub Table1_Init() Bullseye1.IsDropped = True Bullseye3.IsDropped = True Bullseye5.IsDropped = True End Sub Sub Bullseye_Hit PlaySound "ouch" Bullseye.IsDropped = True BTarg.IsDropped = True Bullseye1.IsDropped = False AddScore 1 Timer1.Enabled = True Timer2.Enabled = True End Sub Sub Timer1_Timer() Bullseye.IsDropped = False Bullseye1.IsDropped = True End Sub Sub Timer2_Timer() BTarg.IsDropped = False End Sub |

|

|
||||

You also have to turn off the timers too. (Example).
Sub Timer1_Timer() Timer1.enabled=False Bullseye.IsDropped = False Bullseye1.IsDropped = True End Sub

Altho' I've yet to do bumper animation, I'm happy with all PF structure as is, now
Now starting on manual lift 5 ball game routine from Bendigo's 5a template Might take me quite a while to sort that & scoring etc, hopefully not too long ... as I'd like to do some more tables of the era

Do you have a full backglass image? If so I can make it a full screen b2s for cabinets, if you'd like. So long as you're not using reels, textboxes, or decals on the playfield, as they don't rotate.

Yes, I have a couple of BG images, still in jpg., have been Gimped square
Decals are bumper caps, plunger logo, rubber bump & metal textures The ABCDs need to be decals over lights on PF, tho' & no worries, I'd be pleased to see it made for cabinets |

that's quite a bunch of decals to try to rotate!
Looking great though so how much longer till we get to play it? |

How long ? ... would you like a copy to test run as desktopwhile I sort scripting out ? & Itchy, I meant to say also, no reels or text boxes on PF just the decals " |

Don't know why I said happy with PF
as ...made ramp based triangle posts art deco rib decals on arch gate top ABCD lights/decals improved 'pop' bumper cap image lights in holes under targets & in kickers - thx to Bendigo for the kicker demo adjusted plunger cover |

I had thought decals don't rotate either, but then I saw some on other fs tables, so I'm not sure now. I have much to do at the moment, so I can wait a bit. When the new B2s editor comes out I want to have some tables ready to go using B2s. My template is already B2s ready. Here's a preview BG. I need to work on the colors.

It didn't sound right to me, no reels or text boxes, but not decals also
Good luck with the B2s tables |

That is a very nice wood grain texture and good work on the table.
Having never played this Pin, I will wait and check out your VP9 table version. I like the older Pins too. There are so many older tables that are fun to play. |
