[b]For those following the WIP, There has been changes to the control Press 1 for a one player game Press 2 for a two player game Team 1 uses CTRL to shoot Team 2 uses Keypad Enter to shoot - Coin sound. - Coin key (5) must be pressed if no free games are set. - Hit Score changed from speed based to where the bullet hits the clay. 2 and 3 point shots my look arbitrary, but hitting the sweet spot for 4 is defiantly visual, as well as hitting the edge for only one point. - Doubles only every 4th shot. - One player plays to a set number of misses. This number is set in the operator menu and shares the routine with the two player play to routine, but this number is divided by 2 for one player misses allowed. The range is then 10 to 40 misses. - reshaped the clay - double score with center player (now any speed) - trap boxes display behavior improved - operator menu which selects and saves the score to play to and the trophies needed for a free game F1 Instructions F4 Window/Fullscreen F12 Abort game ESC Exit game Last edited by Shockman; 09-23-2012 at 12:17 PM. |

This isn't the VP editor.
VP could do it but this is easier. (Game Maker I aligned and sized the shooters so they don't jump around when lit, and matched the arc of the skeet to the light line. I might release just one more WIP before it's finished with scoring. I don't yet know where I will get all the display elements lit. I have some and missing others. |

It's not as easy (as quick to dial in) as I thought it would be. Without the speed variable it would be. It's a fun game. A hit, if made has got to be timed right, so the point award I can not see as a timing thing. Perhaps a travel issue, meaning a center man hit would score more than a outside man hit as he would have less time to track it. I do not have the inside man coming up at all to make the shot, but perhaps later that does happen and accounts for the higher hit points. There looks to be 4 increasing values possible for certain hits. I need to figure this out, or if someone knows, or has any ideas as to how to make up a scoring skeem? Maybe the -left man scores 1 on a right launch -center man scores 2 on either launch -right man scores 3 on a left launch (he shoots at a shallower angle so more travel of both moving objects -left man on a left launch and right man on a right launch scores 4 (if that actually happens) Last edited by Shockman; 09-16-2012 at 08:54 PM. |

WIP
-Added a title screen with only the title and score boxes lit. -Added background light. -Added muzzle flash. I have learned that the center man shoots doubles only. My picture has all the lights in an unlit state, but no double light that I have seen in video. An interesting thing is that with the background as used in the WIP release that all the color is preserved. This means that all i have to do is use the dodge tool or lighting tool to bring the lights up to lit with the correct color. Too bad the resolution of the source image is so low though. I have doubles working.
I have replaced the hit image with the originals. If I had a full understanding of the scoring and award system I could have this done in just a few hours. The scoring might have to do with the clay speed, which might mean 4 clay speeds. Last edited by Shockman; 09-17-2012 at 11:11 PM. |

It's possible there may be 4 speeds, it has been a long time for me since I owned one. I don't know how if differenciated a "1" from a "4" though. Can I host this on my site when it's done?

Basically, besides some timer tweaks, two player mode, and finding more suitable sounds, all that is left is the trophy award system. 10 hits with one miss. I will have this game ruled about the time I finish it. Next will be the two player mode, shots will be counted as game length, not misses, then the award system. I don't see a point in doing the trophy awards as the system is pointed to winning a free game and the games are all free. I will add that if it is wanted though.

Great job Phil. I played about 5 games, I played this game back when in a bar a few times, this game feels very good, it may be even harder, but it is a good simulation. I don't remember any of the rules, but I remember getting 4 points more often on hits.

Thanks Bob. I have never seen this game, let alone played it. It gets easier the more it is played, of course.
I plan to add more modes, original like doubles with off timing and sometimes the same trap box, and two shots,, and two players shooting at the same time with two shots so you could get the other players misses. |

There aren't any modes with this but feel free to have fun. Also it was 1 or 2 player only. I would add trophy awards though if it's not too much work.

The reason I asked was the lights on the top right of the screen that say GAME1, GAME2, GAME3, GAME4. This suggests game variations.
Also, from what I have gathered, there was not a true one player game mode as I have put in, but rather a single player would shoot for both teams. I'll do something with the trophies. I just don't like the idea of trophies in the sky. I was going to use the big one on the title screen for high scores, but I will put in the trophy system with a hot key to hide them while shooting. I'll have to check again. I think it was one trophy for each 4 points. Do you remember the game over requirements? Was it a race to a certain number of points, so many shots, or time? |

Just won a couple of trophies.
It's just working on the one player game for now, but all 10 trophies are working. You only get a trophy for a 4 point hit, not every 4 points. The zoomed in trophy is in but not hooked up. I need to check on it. I assume it shows up for a second when a trophy is awarded and not a separate meaning. I changed the random routine for clay speed from a random range of 4 (counting zero) added to a minimum speed, to a random range of 3 added to the base speed covering the 1, 2, and 3 point speeds then added an override 50% chance of a 4 point speed, so there will be much more 4 point speeds used. Thanks Bob. I also fixed a bug that would have the non active trap house lit sometimes. I've got to scrap the ALT key as an option as it does not work in windowed mode. I don't recall the address. I just ran across it. I almost uploaded the version with my notes.
I have already fixed everything that was wrong, except for the shot points. Shot accuracy is indeed based on timing, which means a hit could have probably 7 hit spots (2 for the outside edges, 2 just inside of that, 2 for off center, and 1 center), but I'm not sure of that, it could be 8 with a sweet center, or it could be something silly, like 4, leading edge to back edge.
