same here! I am thinking it's the massive storms that we have rolling through our country atm We just had a mini tornado blow over a tractor trailer on the turnpike about 1000 yds in front of me! took me two hours to go about 10 miles! So give it a day or so till the weather clears up a bit

okay so it was only down for about 2 hours here! But we also had a mini tornado touch down in Philly (Philadelphia), disrupting all the servers and power around here for hours yesterday!

What is a mini tornado? Small in size or rating?
You probably know we had some 5's here (up north a bit) a couple of weeks ago. The closest to me was a 3, about 4 miles away.

A 2 that is 1 1/2 mile wide and a 5 that is 1/8 mile wide. Which is the mini?

If power is knocked out from a tornado I would not call it a mini.

The one in Philly touched down for 300 feet, and was about 100 feet wide. Winds estimated at 75 mph. Destroyed a couple of buildings.

That would bump it past F0 and put it at the low end of F1, but I haven't heard that officially stated anywhere.

Oregon has been getting tornadoes. I was there for 35 years and never heard of one. The last 4 years it has gotten at least a couple per year.
This year was the worse ever here in Alabama, and we have hurricane season coming up.

After Katrina, there was many out of state 'builders' that ripped off a lot of people. My sister was one, but more by fema and insurance (US government). I am about 6 weeks from finishing the rebuilding of her house. It's been a long time, but was paid for in total as it went along. Anyway all my work went without permits or inspections as there was a moratorium put on those because of all the work and the crooked builders (if you could do the work, you were free to). The building we did was overkill on a insane level (double post and beam with conventional framing inside the inside post and beam), but I think in the shape the neighborhoods are in, along with the moratorium, that another 'Katrina' would be just as bad, if not worse.

from what I have heard our government still has yet to clean up the poorer areas surrounding the french quarter! it still looks like a disaster hit it with boats still littering the streets and trash everywhere it seems that our gov. cares little if you live in a poor section or are of a different color than those who run our country. another katrina would destroy what's left of New Orleans since they have yet to fix the levy that collapsed
oh the mini tornado is now officially called a F0 since it had only 75 mph winds and lasted for less than a city block, but it did screw up all the towers and servers for hours here... since my server is close to where that tornado hit I had all sorts of problems logging on yesterday and todays weather isn't any better! rain and more rain 5 days of it so far...sigh i am getting waterlogged here!

Several months ago there were these billboards declaring the end of the world today (5-21-11) all around the Pacoima/Sun Valley area, the "poor" desert suburbs several miles northwest of the Hollywood/Burbank area,
but they got tagged.

As I stated in another forum elsewhere, it's just another day around here...

I think worlds end is to be 12/12/12/; isn't that when the Mayan calender ends? That is what some scientists are concluding that since the Mayans were so technologically advanced and their calendar ends then they must have foreseen the end of the world, never mind that their calendar refreshes every 2000 years or so and that is where theirs happened to stop...

Of coarse it's the end of the world!! 3 Years ago I didn't want a computer, didn't know how to turn one on, and now I have like 10 or 11 tables. My friend's even talking about getting me a programming job! If THAT'S not the end of the world, I don't know what is!!

okay further research the Mayan calendar is 5126 years in length. so at its inception
the Mayans counted forwards 5126 years. that year happens to be 2012.
so it would just be a new calendar to be drawn up should their civilization have lasted those 5126 years!
Since they are not around everyone just thinks it means the end of the world.
And it can't end that day cause in Australia it's already the next day!

Time for a bump.

To continue where it left off, those people are not dead. Their way of life is but there are decedents. If they knew the manor in which to continue the calendar or start a new one, I believe they would have. Their calendar was not merely a time scale though, but a prophetic account of life. I believe that they were truly at a loss when it came to that date or they would have surly continued.

December 21 2012 IS going to be the end of something, if only the Mayan calendar and the 5th age of the sun.

It will be the beginning of something, if only the 6th age of the sun according to the same belief.

Something IS going to happen around that time, if only the galactic alignment.

Whatever happens, it's going to be a hell of a day.

My hope is that something will happen. Something needs to happen.

I'm hoping that too. I think whatever is going to "happen" is already under way and we will look at it later and go "oh yeah, how did I miss that"? I don't see a cataclysmic event happening. I see it as "end of an age".

Many that see it as the beginning of a new age site the development of humans technology. According to the charting of the doubling of human technical understanding, at a point around 2012 the doubling will reach 1,000 times per second. This is too fantastic for my thinking, I don't think our understanding is anywhere near that, but a mere nother orbit around the galaxy center is boring.

The time is based on nothing more than superstition, and the event is not even hinted, but it does seem to me that time is due. Humanity is at a crossroads, and specific humans are responsible for this.
